Couple of top CB prospects; rising QB dinged … Nothing necessarily serious here, but several college injury issues that we’ll be tracking in the next few weeks. Star Michigan CB Will Johnson, arguably the top pure corner in the 2025 draft class and a top 5 prospect for next April’s draft, sat out the second half of the Huskies’ loss at Illinois yesterday with an undisclosed lower leg injury. One report suggested it was a toe injury, while another speculated that it may be an ankle. Colorado’s Travis Hunter, another top 5 prospect, did not play in the second half of the Buffs’ win at Arizona; Hunter had been questionable in the week prior to the game after incurring a shoulder injury the previous week, reportedly was held out for precautionary reasons with Colorado comfortably ahead at the half; however, it does indicate that Hunter is not necessarily 100%. At the same time, it appears that Indiana QB Kurtis Rourke, who has bee a major part of the undefeated Hoosiers’ 7-0 start to the season, will miss some time with a thumb injury. In fact, Rourke, who leads the country in passing efficiency, has already been ruled out of the Hoosiers’ game with Washington next week.
