League mulls combine changes … According to a report at NFL.com the NFL is actively considering some changes to the drills run at the combine to make them more position specific. It has long been argued, for example, that it really makes no sense for offensive linemen to run the 40 yard dash, something they will almost never do in an actual football game. Indeed, most teams put more stock in the big guys 10- and 20-yard splits. We’d also like to see guys come out of a football stance rather than make the bizarre start that has been common to the combine for the year.
