College football updates … Star Purdue WR Rondale Moore, who opted back in after he had originally opted out of the season, did not play in the Boilermakers’ season-opening win over Iowa on the weekend. No reason was given. Moore emerged as one of the most electric playmakers in the country as a freshman in 2018, but played in only four games last season due to a hamstring injury … After playing in only 2 games this season before having surgery in late September to remove a loose bone fragment in his foot, former All-ACC CB Mark Gilbert of Duke has decided to opt out and declare for the draft … LSU has announced that rising redshirt sophomore OT Dare Rosenthal, one of the top young prospects for the 2021 draft, has been suspended indefinitely for an undisclosed reason. Rosenthal, though, did leave the program earlier this year when the pandemic first hit, but did return in the summer … After playing in only 4 games, Arkansas CB Jerry Jacobs, who transferred to the Razorbacks from Arkansas State, has also decided to opt out and declare for the draft … Auburn OG Brandon Council, a late round or free agent prospect for the upcoming draft, will miss the remainder of the season after suffering what is being described as a serious knee injury. Council transferred to Auburn from Akron, where he was a 3-year starter this year.
