Clock ticking on Watson deal with trade deadline looming … The clock continues to tick on any potential deal for disgruntled Houston QB DeShaun Watson with the NFL trade deadline coming up in less than 6 days at 4 PM ET on Tuesday next week. However, it appears that there may be several developments on the Watson front. There are multiple reports today, for example, that indicate that after reportedly dipping their toes into the mix over the weekend, Carolina is no longer involved in any trade talks regarding Watson. There are also several reports out there that Miami and Houston are continuing their negotiations, but neither side has blinked yet with Houston holding firm on its demands for a multi-pick/player package for Watson including at least three first round draft picks. At the same time, though, Houston Chronicle analyst John McClain is reporting that the two sides have in fact agreed on the parameters of a deal, but that Miami owner Steven Ross would like to see some resolution of Watson’s myriad of legal woes – he’s being sued by 22 women who are accusing him of sexual assault while receiving massages – before signing off on the deal. Stay tuned.
