Dolphins get WR Hill

March 23, 2022

Chiefs trade star WR Hill to Dolphins for five picks … That didn’t take long! Literally just minutes after word came down that Kansas City had given star WR Tyreek Hill permission to seek a trade after extension talks between the team and player stalled, the Chiefs reportedly sent Hill to Miami for three picks this year and two in 2023. This year, the Chiefs will get the 29th pick in the opening round which the Dolphins got from San Francisco as part of their deal to move up and get WR Jaylen Waddle last April, along with the 50th in the 2nd round and either of picks 121 or 125 in the fourth round. Next year, the Chiefs will be adding 4th and 6th round picks. In fact, Dolphins’ fans have to be ecstatic as this deal comes just a day after Miami signed OT Terron Armstead, one of the top free agents on the market this year, although draft day itself could be relatively quiet in Miami as the Dolphins now only have 6 picks, none in the top 100. On the other hand, the Chiefs now have 12 picks, tied for most in the league with Jacksonville, including 6 in the first three rounds which is the most of any team, although the Chiefs didn’t really get the haul they were hoping for in the Hill trade.
