Chase for Chase: ‘not so fast!’ says Chase

December 14, 2019

Chase for Chase: ‘not so fast!’ says Chase … We’ll actually believe it when we see it, but earlier this evening star Ohio State junior DE Chase Young muddled the build-up to the 2020 draft, where he is projected to be one of the first two players selected, when he responded to a reporter asking whether he planned to return to school next fall that that ‘was the plan.’ Of course, that’s hardly a definitive statement as plans can change and Young gave himself a lot of wiggle room, but it did catch some NFL execs whose teams are looking at a potential early pick next April off guard a little. It’s also possible that there’s actually not much to Young’s statement in that he may simply not want to create a distraction for his team prior to their national playoff game against Clemson later this month. Fact is that guys as highly rated as Young almost always enter the draft rather than risk losing out on a big payday because of an injury. Whatever, we will almost assuredly know for sure pretty quickly as underclassmen have only until the end of business on January 15th to file paperwork with the NFL in order to be eligible for the 2020 draft. Stay tuned!
