College quarters set … The first round of the first ever multiple round college football playoff wrapped up last night with Ohio State throttling Tennessee 42-17 to set up a rematch of the Buckeyes’ one-point loss to Oregon earlier this fall in one of 4 CFP quarter final games. They’ll play in the Rose Bowl on January 1st in a game that actually looks like an old-time Rose Bowl with Oregon from the former Pac-12 against the Big Ten’s Ohio State. Same story, sort of for the Sugar Bowl in which SEC champ Georgia will face Notre Dame in another CFP QF contest on New Year’s Day. The other two CFP quater final games will have Texas facing Arizona State in the Peach Bowl to kick off the January 1st triple header, while Penn State will face Boise State in the Fiesta Bowl on New Year’s Eve.
