Unlike the NFL or the NHL, CFL teams don’t get rich from TV revenue and are very much dependent on gate receipts to survive. And there are no guarantees that the league will survive through to 2021, although it has been through some tough times before. Meanwhile, the Canadian college football season was cancelled weeks ago along with all fall sports.
