As we cruise along now with lighting speed it becomes impractical to try to comment on every pick let’s take a breathe and comment on some draft talk going on al around us. RICH EISEN, NFLN just went on a mini-tirade when his beloved JETS came on the clock. It’s early Round 5 and he’s basically pissed cause… Read More »

(12:03 PM ET): For those not watching NFL Network, Mike Mayock reported that Pitt OG Dorian Johnson, the #2 guy on our list of remaining players, is still there because of a non-football health issue.

(12:01 PM ET): And we are back one more time with the Packers on the board with the first pick of the 4th round. Enjoy!!

At times anther strange night for the NFL Draft, but in reality Round 1 was going to be very difficult to top. The beginning of Round 2 seemed to portend some heavy movement. After the PACKERS’ Ted Thompson decided that no one was offering enough to make them move back again and took their widely anticipated CB in… Read More »

(7:43 PM ET): Really nice move by Buffalo to move up to get East Carolina WR Zay Jones with the37th pick acquired from the LA Rams. The Bills also get the Rams 5th rounder, while the Rams get the 91st in the 3rd.

(7:35 PM ET): Arizona moves up in second round to get Washington SS Budda Baker with 36th pick acquired from Chicago for the 45th, 119th and 197th pick as well as a 4th rounder in 2018. To complete the deal Arizona also gets the 221st pick. Decent move by Bears’ G.M. Ryan Pace who got roasted yesterday for… Read More »

(7:23 PM ET): Jacksonville moves up one spot to grab Alabama OT Cam Robinson. To flip the 34-35 picks with Seattle the Jags gave the Seahawks the 187th pick.

(7:17 PM ET): Packers get the second round started by selecting Washington CB Kevin King with the 33rd pick. Now let see if we can move things along folks cause we got a long night ahead!!

(7:00 PM ET): We’re back with Green Bay on the clock! ed

We are closing in on Day Two of the NFL Draft. Don’t know why I felt I had to tell you that. If I did you probably are at the wrong website this evening. Tonite is the when League teams finish off skimming the cream off the top of the prospect milk bottle. Bad k when I was… Read More »

PACKERS trade out and T.J. WATT goes to the RAIDERS at 30. Clearly THOMPSON was not hot on JJ’s younger brother. THOMPSON must have a cluster of players he considers about the same from about 24 to 35. RAEKWON McMILLAN/ILB, KEWVIN KING/CB, CHIDOBE AWUZIE/CB, DUKE RILEY/LB, FORREST LAMP/OL are names that stand out to me when they pick,… Read More »

(11:14 PM ET): Atlanta moves up from #26 to #31 to take a very emotional UCLA DE/OLB Takk McKinley. Pick was from Seattle who get the Falcons 3rd (#95) and 7th (#249) picks in exchange.

(10:41 PM ET): Fact that Detroit selected Florida LB Jarrad Davis rather than Alabama’s Reuben Davis tends to say that there is in fact something wrong physically with Foster’s shoulder as there were some whispers recently that he there concerns from his combine medical re-check.

(9:34 PM ET): they have done it again. The Browns traded away a #1, this time the 12th to Houston who no doubt will be moving up to take Deshaun Watson. The Browns get the 25th pick and the Texans #1 next year.

(9:29 PM ET): Tomorrow morning every G.M. in the league will be opining that ‘they couldn’t believe the guy they got was still on the board.’ Mickey Loomis of the Saints will probably be the only one who isn’t lying after Ohio State CB Marshon Lattimore, the best corner in a CB loaded draft, fell into his lap.… Read More »

Top 10 Picks are in and a couple of things have struck me. Most all Draftniks have proclaimed Defense to have the most talent this year. Yet in the pass-happy NFL 7 of the top 10 pIcks are on Offense. 2QB, 2RB &3WR. I do believe we will still see Defense dominate the Top 100 but the start… Read More »

(9:16 PM ET): Big trade with KC moving up to #10 – presumably to take either of QBs Deshaun Watson or Pat Mahomes – from Buffalo. In exchange the Bills get the 28th pick, a 3rd rounder (#91) and the big prize, the Chiefs #1 pick in 2018. Like the move by the Bills who had a chance to… Read More »

(9:00 PM ET): Interesting that the draft guru community apparently missed on this year’s top WRs. Nobody had Corey Davis or Mike Williams ratyed in the top half of the opening round, but both go in the top ten. It will also be interesting to see now where john Ross goes. There were rumblings during the day that… Read More »

(8:55 PM ET): Interesting pick for the Jets who take LSU DB Jamal Adams. Adams is probably the best player left on the board, but truth be told its really hard to see how he moves the goal posts all that far for a team that is being described as the least talented in the NFL. Good news… Read More »

(8:43 PM ET): So much for pre-draft workouts. Tennessee grabs WR Corey Davis from the MAC’s Western Michigan with the 5th pick. Its also first surprise pick as even when he was healthy Davis was never considered to be a top ten prospects. A cynic might even suggest the Titans could have gotten Davis, or a similar value… Read More »

(8:30 PM ET): Great move by rookie G.M. John Lynch who gets the guy he was going to take anyway and picks up three extra picks too boot. FTR the 49ers now have 12 picks in this draft.

(8:18 PM ET): Bears make a splash right off the bat trading a 3rd (#67) and 4th (#111) this year and a 3rd last year to select QB Mitch Trubisky. Wow! Nobody saw that coming after the Bears signed Mike Glennon this off-season. Certainly, the best QB in this draft, but that’s a big price to pay for… Read More »

(8:12 PM ET): Well there’s a surprise to start the evening off. The Browns select Texas A&M DE Myles Garrett with the #1 pick. Hard to argue with the pick. He is clearly the best player in the draft and if he comes to Cleveland motivated to play every down – and that’s a big IF – he… Read More »

(8:06): And we are underway with the Browns on the clock after a nice Philly welcome for the Commish! Will it be Garrett or Trubisky? ed

(7:55 PM ET) Just a few quick observations with just minutes to go until the Browns officially get on the clock to start the 2017 draft. Great turnout for the draft in Philadelphia; its almost like the Eagles won a Super Bowl championship and they are having a parade! And NFL Network analyst Mike Mayock looks positively dapper… Read More »
