Cards still keeping options open; will host DE Bosa … While it is still hard to find anyone around the NFL these days that doesn’t believe that Arizona won’t ultimately take Oklahoma QB Kyler Murray with the #1 pick at next month’s draft, the Cardinals themselves keep insisting that they haven’t made a final decision yet. And they will apparently add another ingredient to the pot with news that the Cardinals will host Ohio State DE Nick Bosa, the consensus #1 non-QB prospect this year, at their team facilities this week on Thursday and Friday. Each team is entitled to bring in up to 30 out-of-town players for a visit at their team facilities for interviews and medical evaluation; however, players can’t be worked out on the field at these on-site visits. All this comes after the Cardinals also met privately with Bosa in Miami last over the weekend. Its not totally clear, though, whether the Cardinals are indeed genuinely interested in selecting Bosa with the #1 pick overall, or are simply putting out a smoke signal that they aren’t that interested in taking Murray at that spot. Needless to say, if the Cardinals were to take Bosa with the top pick they would almost assuredly be hanging onto QB Josh Rosen, whom they are believed likely to try and trade if they were to take Murray. However, by suggesting that they are thinking of holding onto Rosen, the Cardinals could simply be trying to elevate his trade value. Stay tuned!
