Report: 6 teams have called Cards about 3rd pick … Adam Schefter of the NFL Network reported today that 6 teams have already contacted Arizona about a potential trade up to the 3rd pick overall in this month’s draft currently held by the Cardinals. Unfortunately, the report doesn’t identify any of the 6 teams, although Tennessee hasn’t denied inquiring about a possible trade up from the 11th pick to #3, while it also seems likely that Las Vegas has also reached out to the Cardinals. It is also possible that Indianapolis has called about possibly flipping the 3rd and 4th pick, especially if the Colts clearly prefer one of QBs Anthony Richardson of Florida or Kentucky’s Will Levis over the other. After that its kind of a guessing game. The Cardinals also haven’t indicated one way or the other whether they would actually seriously consider trading down, although its hard to figure why they wouldn’t, particularly if they got an extra 2024 first rounder as part of the deal. Indeed, there was more than a little speculation today around the league that the source of the report may actually have been the Cardinals themselves hoping to drum up a little more interest in the pick. Stay tuned!
