Canes on to CFP finals; Ducks-Hoosiers on deck

Canes on to CFP finals; Ducks-Hoosiers on deck … Miami clinched a ticket to this year’s CFP national championship game with a dramatic 31-27 win over Mississippi in a really scintillating game that came down to the last play. Miami only took the lead for good with barely 24 seconds on the clock when sometimes maligned QB Carson Beck scampered for a 3-yard TD. The Canes then survived when a final desperation heave by Ole Miss QB Trinidad Chambliss, who despite the loss was maybe the player of the game, fell harmlessly in the Miami end zone.

Miami will now play the winner of tonight’s match-up of Big 10 rivals Indiana and Oregon in the Peach Bowl in Atlanta with KO set for just after 7:30 PM ET. And what adds a little spice to this clash is the fact that the game also features a head-to-head dual between QBs Fernando Mendoza of the Hoosiers and the Ducks’ Dante Moore who are generally considered to be the only two QBs with legit top 5 potential for the upcoming, although for the record neither has actually declared to date. Buckle up!!
