BYU QB Wilson sizzles in bowl win

BYU QB Wilson sizzles in bowl win … For those that missed it last evening, BYU QB Zack Wilson didn’t disappoint in the Cougars’ bowl win over Central Florida. For the record, Wilson completed 26 of 34 passes for 425 yards and 3 TDs as the Cougars rang up over 600 yards of total offense en route to an easy 49-23 win over UCF. In one sense, it was hard to grade Wilson as he faced almost no pressure at all and seemed to be throwing to wide-open receivers all night; in fact, at times it hard more the feel of a pro day workout rather than a competitive football game. At the same time, though, it was pretty obvious that the kid can sling it. Indeed, there were multiple throws that were 30-plus yard darts that were dead cold on the numbers. And at least based on what we saw last night, the question wasn’t so much whether Wilson, who is currently the 4th rated prospect on the GBN Big Board has the tools to challenge Ohio State’s Justin Fields as the #2 QB prospect, but whether he could actually make a run at the #1 pick overall. Stay tuned!
