Murray center of combine top pick buzz … We are still only half way through the on-field workout sessions at the scouting combine, but according to just about every source around the league we have the major developing story in Indianapolis is that if the draft were held this week, Oklahoma QB Kyler Murray would be the #1 pick overall. What isn’t clear, though, who ultimately makes the pick. There is a growing sense, on the one hand, that Arizona, which currently has that #1 pick, is warming to the idea of taking Murray for themselves despite trading up in last year’s draft to acquire Josh Rosen with the 10th pick. If they did ultimately take Murray, they would then likely move Rosen, although its unlikely they’d get anything close to the 10th pick for him, which may be their first clue! If the Cardinals ultimately decide to stick with Rosen, there are reportedly a number of teams likely to call about trading for the top pick and Murray. And it doesn’t take a rocket scientist to figure that the teams most likely to want to move up include the Giants, Jacksonville, Miami and possibly Washington. There have also been some rumblings this weekend that Oakland, which has three first rounders this year including the 4th pick overall, could also be in the mix as there are reports that the Raiders have in fact been quietly shopping incumbent starter Derek Carr.
