Bulldog QB Haener out indefinitely

Bulldog QB Haener out indefinitely … Fresno State QB Jake Haener, one of several decent second-tier prospects at the position for the upcoming draft, is out indefinitely after suffering a high ankle sprain in last night’s loss at Southern California. The Bulldogs, though, say they hope to get Haener back before the end of the campaign. Thru three games, two against PAC-12 teams, Haener has completed 71% of passes including three for TDs versus one pick. In fact, Haener had gone over 200 throws without a pick before last night’s loss at USC. Haener is a 6th year senior who was playing courtesy of the NCAA’s free year of eligibility granted because of the pandemic. Interesting question whether he’d still have that year of eligibility if he does not play again this fall.
