Buckeyes lose C; retain LT … The NFL is still waiting for an official confirmation from Ohio State junior QB Justin Fields on whether he in fact will be entering the 2021 draft, although one has to search high and low to find anyone who genuinely expects him to say no to the NFL. In fact, Fields is pretty much the last big name underclassman still to be heard from with the deadline for juniors and redshirt sophomores to apply to the league for early entry to this April’s draft coming up at the end of business tomorrow. The Buckeyes will lose junior C Josh Myers to the pros this winter, as he announced that he will be entering this year’s draft. At the same time, though, Ohio State did get some good news in that starting LT Thayer Munford has opted to take advantage of the NCAA’s waiver and will return for a 5th season next fall. There had also been some speculation that RB Trey Sermon and P Drue Chrisman might also opt to return for another year, but both seniors indicated over the weekend that they will indeed be entering the draft.
