Buckeye coach suspended three weeks … For those that missed the story yesterday, Ohio State has suspended head coach Urban Meyer for the first three weeks of the season after a three-week investigation by the school into Meyer’s handling of WR coach Rick Smith following a 2015 arrest in a case of alleged domestic violence. As a result, Meyer will miss home games against Oregon State and Rutgers, as well as the Buckeyes’ big road showdown at TCU in the third week of the schedule. Meyer will return for Ohio State’s final non-conference against Tulane on September 22nd which will give him a couple of weeks to get ready for the Buckeyes’ huge conference Big Ten opener at Penn State on September 29th. In Meyer’s absence, offensive co-ordinator Ryan Day will continue to serve as acting head coach.
