Bubble burst; combine saved!! … Faced with an open revolt by as many as 157 players, the NFL and the Scouting Combine, has announced that the controversial bubble concept for this year’s in Indianapolis has been abandoned. The league and combine officials had informed participants to this year’s event, which gets underway next week, that they would only be allowed to be accompanied by one support person and that they would have to remain in the so-called bubble during their stay in Indianapolis. However, the league, so far anyway, has not changed the player’s workout schedule meaning that players will have to go through the weigh-in/measurement session, the bench press and the on-field workout all on the same day. As a result, it is expected that some players may opt not to do the bench press at the combine but rather wait for their pro day.
