Browns taking Sanders, Hunter to pre-pro day dinner … Its a big day on the pre-draft process coming up tomorrow when Colorado hosts what they are calling an ‘NFL Showcase’ – the Big XII had the conference’s ‘official’ pro day last month – featuring QB Shedeur Sanders and WR/CB Travis Hunter. The Buffaloes will be covered live tomorrow afternoon on the NFL Network starting at 2:30 PM ET.
And what’s always interesting with these types of private workouts in which team gets the take the featured player out for dinner the night before. The answer for sanders/Hunter is Cleveland which has the 2nd pick overall at the upcoming draft and are likely one of the teams most likely to select Sanders with that pick. The Browns will be in there is force with a group that includes owner Jimmy Haslam, GM Andrew Berry, coach Kevin Stefanski, offensive coordinator Tommy Rees and QB coach Bill Musgrave. What does it mean? Who knows; other than the Browns have a pretty good grade on both guys. It is kind of interesting, though, that the Browns’ contingent appears to include their QB coach and not the WR coach.
Meanwhile, Tennessee, which has the first pick overall, will also have senior people there in the person of GM Mike Borgonzi, but neither head of football ops Chad Brinker nor head coach Brian Callahan will be on hand. Interestingly, the Titans WILL also have their WR coach in Colorado tomorrow. The Titans, though, will also hold a private workout with Sanders and Hunter next week (April 9).
