Updated: Browns take PSU DE Carter to dinner, work out QBs Milroe and Dart … In an update to an earlier report this morning which confirmed that Cleveland officials, including the owner, GM and head coach, took Penn State DE Abdul Carter out to dinner last night, the Browns also reportedly held private work out with QBs Jalen Milroe of Alabama and Ole Miss’ Jaxson Dart earlier this week.We still think the most likely option for the Browns is to take Shedeur Sanders with the second pick, but it appears from these most recent moves – and there really is nothing to be gained in the Browns blowing any smoke at this time – that Cleveland is at least exploring its options regarding the possibility of taking Carter, arguably the best player in the draft whom they would likely be pairing him with recently resigned Myles Garrett to give them what they would hope to be one of the most dynamic edge rushes in the league, and finding a QB with a later pick. It is kind of interesting to note, though, that literally at the same time as the Browns brain trust was meeting with Carter, that Garrett was opining that ‘any team that’s going anywhere in the NFL’ needs a ‘good young quarterback!’ Less than a month to go!!
