Browns still undecided at #2 … According to a report by Mark Kay Cabot of the Cleveland Plain Dealer, New Browns’ head coach Hie Jackson says the team is still along way off from making a decision on which player to select with the second pick overall at the 2016 draft, now just 55 days away. Jackson wouldn’t even confirm that the Browns would be taking a QB with their top pick, but that’s where most of his conversation pointed. In particular, Jackson denied published reports that Cal QB Jared Goff ‘bombed’ his interview with the Browns at the combine, while North Dakota State’s Carson Wentz ‘rocked’ his. “I don’t know where that came from” said Jackson who also downplayed some of his earlier comments that hand size was an important variable for QBs. Goff’s hand size at 9 inches is fully one inch smaller than Wentz and was one reason why Goff had a lot of fumbles while at Cal. Bottom line is that if the Browns haven’t made a final decision on which of the two QBs they prefer, the consensus around the league is that Wentz has a clear lead. Stay tuned!
