Broncos waive QB Sanchez; 49ers cut four picks … No big surprise as the defending Super Bowl champion has released veteran QB Mark Sanchez as part of the team’s moves to get down to today’s opening day 53-man roster limit. No big surprise either that Sanchez was immediately signed by Dallas, which of course lost starting QB Tony Romo to a back injury last weekend. At the same time, a couple of rookie QBs also got the axe in the latest moves announced by teams around the league as San Francisco cut Jeff Driskel, while Detroit cut Jake Rudock; both were 6th round picks this past spring. In fact, the 49ers cut four 2016 draftees today axing 5th round OT Fahn Cooper, 6th round RB Kelvin Taylor and 7th round CB Prince Charles Iworah along with QB Driskel. Meanwhile, other 2016 picks released in the latest announced cuts include LBs Tyrone Holmes of Jacksonville, Pittsburgh’s Travis Feeney and New England’s Kamu Grugier-Hill, all of whom were 6th rounders this year, along with 7th rounder Trevor Bates of Indianapolis. New England also released WR Devin Lucier, while Pittsburgh released 7th round WR DeMarcus Ayers. Philadelphia released CB Blake Countess, another 6th rounder this year.
