Bronco to IR QB Lock … While he formally made Denver’s initial 53-man roster, don’t expect to see rookie QB Drew Lock playing any time soon. Lock, the Broncos’ second round pick at the 2019 draft, has been told by the team that he will be placed on injured reserve later today. Lock sprained the thumb on his throwing hand in Denver’s third preseason game at Seattle last month. As a result of the roster move, Lock will not be allowed to practice for at least six weeks and cannot play for at least eight weeks. In fact, Lock wasn’t going to play much anyway behind Joe Flacco, but not being able to practice likely won’t advance his development much.
