Bowl sked contiues

December 26, 2021

Bowl sked continues … The Bowl season continues on Monday with the Quick Lane Bowl (11 AM ET; ESPN) between Western Michigan and Nevada. There was actually supposed to be second bowl Monday, but the scheduled Military Bowl between Boston College and East Carolina had to be cancelled because of Covid-related issues. And they could just as easily have cancelled the Quick Lane game because Nevada QB Carson Strong, one of the top 4-5 prospects for the position at the 2022 draft and probably the only real reason to watch this game, opted out to begin draft preparations. So did the Wolf Pack TE Cole Turner, who also has draft potential. So does WR Romeo Doubs (#7, 6-1, 200), a mid-to-late third round prospect, who will play for Nevada Monday; he’s had a terrific season with 80 receptions for 1,100 yards and 11 TDs and has also averaged 15.5 yards returning punts. The Wolf Pack also have an interesting defensive linemen in Tristan Nichols (#95, 6-4, 245) a very undersized DT who still had 10 sacks this fall. WMU also an interesting pass rusher in DE Ali Fayad (#1, 6-2, 250) who had 11.5 sacks of his own, while true junior WR Skyy Moore (#24, 5-10, 195) made a second straight first-team all-conference after catching 91 passes for over 1,200 yards and 10 scores.
