Go west young football fan! … Or something like that. Whatever the football focus this day will be on the far coast where Seattle plays at San Francisco in the NFL’s Thursday night game (8:25 PM ET; CBS/NFL Network) in what looks to be almost an elimination game with both teams sitting at 2-4. There’s also a pretty good game out west on the college schedule where #20 California plays at UCLA at 9 PM ET on ESPN. This one will give draft watchers a chance to check out Cal junior QB Jared Goff (#16, 6-4, 210), the top-rated passer for the upcoming draft who is currently grading out as top 5 candidate. Goff, though, will be looking to bounce back from a 5-interception outing last weekend in the Bears’ loss at 3rd ranked Utah. And Goff has a pretty good target in junior WR Kenny Lawlor (#4, 6-2, 195), a potential second-day pick this year. Meanwhile, UCLA has a first-round pick of its own in rising junior DT Kenny Clark (#97, 6-3, 315). Of course the Bruins will be without star MLB Myles Jack who is out for the year with a knee injury, but has already signed with an agent and will definitely be entering the 2016 draft.
