Bills release embattled rookie P; first pick to get the axe … It was kind of inevitable once allegations of an ugly sexual assault were made public last week as Buffalo has opted to release rookie P Matt Araiza, a 6th round pick at the 2023 draft. The Bills made the decision after news emerged that Araiza and two former San Diego State teammates were being sued by a 17-year-old woman alleging that the three gang raped her in October last year, although so far no charges have been laid. San Diego police, though, reportedly have investigated and have passed the file onto the local DA’s office for a final decision. With the release, Araiza becomes the first player selected this past spring to be released with teams facing Tuesday’s deadline to get down to their initial 53-man roster.
