Bengals magic number down to 1 … Cincinnati took a huge step toward securing the #1 pick overall at the 2020 draft this afternoon. The Bengals hung in early against New England, but ultimately went down to the Patriots to drop to 1-13 on the year. Meanwhile, the Giants, who came into the week sitting on the second pick, ended a nine-game losing streak with a win over Miami to raise their record to 3-11. As a result, if the Bengals lose either of their final two games they will clinch the #1 pick. Next week the Bengals play at Miami before closing out the season with a home date against Cleveland. Meanwhile, despite the win, the Giants will hold the #2 pick for at least another week, while Washington is currently at #3 and Miami at #4, although there isn’t much difference in the SOS percentages for the Redskins and Dolphins. Not sure if its ever happened before, but the teams with the top 4 picks play each other in the 16th week of the schedule, as the Giants will be at Washington next Sunday while the Bengals and Dolphins duke it out in Miami.
