Bears trade QB Fields to Steelers for future late pick … And there you have it. Chicago has traded QB Justin Fields to Pittsburgh for a conditional 6th round pick in 2025. The pick reportedly could escalate to as much as a 4th rounder depending on Fields playing time next fall. However, Fields was acquired by Pittsburgh as a back-up to newly acquired Russell Wilson and not to compete for the starting role. Of course, in finally trading Fields, for whom there was almost shockingly virtually no market at all, the Bears are now clearly committed to taking a QB – presumably Caleb Williams of Southern Cal – with the first overall pick in next month’s draft.
