Banner day in Columbus; Bucks clinch division as Young stars, get vet DE back … Pretty good day for the home side today in Columbus where Ohio State clinched the BIG TEN East title with a tough 28-17 win over Penn State. Of course, the Buckeyes still have to win at Michigan next week and knock off either Wisconsin or upstart Minnesota in the conference championship game in order to guarantee a spot in the CFP playoffs. Today’s win was also marked by the return to action of star junior DE Chase Young, who missed the past two games after being suspended as a results of reports that his family had accepted a loan from a friend to help pay for their trip to last year’s Rose Bowl. And Young, the consensus top non-QB prospect for the 2020 draft, made up for lost time as he recorded a career high 9 tackles including three sacks, another tackle for loss as well as a forced fumble. The Buckeyes also got some good news earlier in the day when DE Jonathon Cooper announced that he will use his redshirt return for what will be his senior year next fall. Cooper has missed all but three games this season with an ankle injury, although he could technically still play in one more game for the Buckeyes this fall and still qualify for the extra year.
