Baker on way to visit Browns

Baker on way to visit Browns … Speaking of those on-site visits all NFL are allowed to host in the days leading up to the draft, Oklahoma QB Baker Mayfield is on his way to Cleveland as we speak for a visit with the Browns. Mayfield will have dinner with Browns’ coaches and senior execs this evening and tour the team’s facilities tomorrow. The Browns, in fact, will host all four of this year’s top QBs, including Southern Cal’s Sam Darnold, UCLA’s Josh Rosen and Josh Allen of Wyoming this week. And while Darnold remains the odds on favorite to be the Browns’ pick with the #1 selection this year, Cleveland head coach Hue Jackson says that they have yet to make a final decision and that Mayfield is still part of the debate. So is Rosen say the Browns even though Jim Mora, his former coach at UCLA, said that the former Bruins’ gunslinger wouldn’t be a particularly good fit in Cleveland where his progressive opinion might not sit all that well with a somewhat conservative fan base. And Cleveland won’t be Mayfield’s only stop as he visits scheduled with the Giants, Jets, Denver, Miami, Arizona and Buffalo. The Giants and Jets, who also have a major need at QB, have the 2nd and 3rd picks respectively, while Denver, which has the 5th pick, may be the most interested in Mayfield. However, the Bills, Dolphins and Cardinals, who pick later in the draft, are believed to be exploring ways to move into the top 4-5 picks to get one of the top QB prospects. Stay tuned!
