Badgers OT conundrum

December 21, 2016

Injury conundrum for Badgers’ LT Ramcyzk … Wisconsin junior LT Ryan Ramczyk has walked back a report earlier this week that he would definitely be undergoing hip surgery soon after the Badgers’ complete their season against Western Michigan in the Cotton Bowl. Ramcyzk, a potential late first or early second round prospect for the upcoming draft, has a torn labrum in his hip which will eventually require surgery; however, he did play through the injury through much of the past season and could put the surgery off until after at least the combine. There is a 4 month rehab period for this type of injury so if Ramcyzk opted to have the surgery sooner rather than later he would likely not be able to workout during the pre-draft period. Ramcyzk still has not decided whether he will in fact enter this year’s draft, but did confirm in a local interview that the injury will be a factor. Underclassmen have until January 18th to apply to the NFL for early entry to the 2017 draft.
