B10 Wildcats waiting on QB Thorson … The first big weekend of college football actually kicks off later tonight when Northwestern plays at Purdue in a very early season conference game. And all eyes will be on the Wildcats’ senior QB Clayton Thorson who tore an ACL in the team’s bowl game last December. Thorson has been practicing for several weeks, but team officials have been coy about whether he will start this evening saying basically ‘wait until kick-off!’ If healthy, though, Thorson is considered to be a legitimate prospect at the position for the 2019 draft and it will obviously be a big plus for pro scouts if is back in the lineup this evening.
