Auburn loses CB for year; still waiting on star DE … For the second year in a row, Auburn CB/S Josh Holsey, who had been considered to be a late round or free agent prospect for the 2016, will miss the better part of the season because of a torn ACL. Holsey, a senior who started 7 games in 2014, injured the knee in the Tigers’ 27-20 overtime victory against Jacksonville State last weekend. Unfortunately, for Holsey its the same ACL he tore last fall. However, because Holsey has not yet used a redshirt season, he could possibly apply for a medical hardship and get another year of eligibiltiy next fall. The bigger concern for the Tigers as they head into Saturday’s huge divisional game at LSU is the availability of star junior DE Carl Lawson, who continues to be listed as day-to-day because of a hip problem. Lawson played the first half of the Tigers’ season-opener against Louisville, but dd not play against JSU.
