If its Wednesday it must be Cleveland … Nobody will excuse the top QB prospects in this year’s draft if they have to check the newspaper when they wake up in the morning to see what city they are in the these days as they are all building up their travel miles big time. Today, for example, USC QB Sam Darnold will be in Cleveland for a visit at Browns’ HQ; needless to say it could be a key moment for both the team and player as Darnold remains the odds on favorite to be the player the Browns take with the #1 pick overall at this month’s draft. The Browns will then have QBs Josh Rosen and Josh Allen in for visits later this week, while Lamar Jackson is scheduled to be in Cleveland early next week. Meanwhile, after visiting with the Browns, Darnold will head home for a private workout with Denver on Friday. The Giants, who have the #2 pick, will have each of Darnold, Rosen, Allen and Baker Mayfield in for visits at their facility next week. Mayfield, in fact, will be first up for the Giants on Sunday; the OU star will then meet with the Jets on Monday with visits to Buffalo and Miami later in the week. He’ll also be visiting Denver the following week.
