Are you ready for some football!! … The new NFL football year officially begins at 4 PM ET on Wednesday afternoon at which time all teams have to be below the 2016 salary cap. And once the clock hits that hour teams can begin to formally sign free agents and make trades. However, teams have been able to at least talk with free agents over the past couple of days and several deals have already been agreed on. Oakland, for example, has reportedly agreed to terms with former Baltimore G/T Kelechi Osemele, while Jacksonville has reportedly come to terms with Denver DT Malik Jackson. At the same time, Miami has agreed to terms with disgruntled former Buffalo DE Mario Williams, while Philadelphia has reportedly come to terms with former Buffalo CB Leodis McKelvin. Meanwhile, free-agent-to-be DEs Jason Pierre-Paul of the Giants, Charles Johnson of Carolina, and Kansas City’s Tamba Hali all have reportedly re-upped with their old teams. Elsewhere, they could be looking for WRs in the draft in the NFC North as star Detroit wideout Calvin Johnson has retired, while Minnesota has released Mike Wallace.
