Are you ready for some football

July 16, 2023

Are you ready for some football … sort of … The NFL off-season is almost over as training camps begin opening. Nine teams will open their camps for rookies and selected veterans on Tuesday, while the NY Jets will be the first team to welcome their full complement of players the following day. The Jets get to open early as they’ll be playing Cleveland in the NFL’s annual Hall of Fame game on August 3rd in Canton. The Browns in fact will be the second team to open their full camp with all players to report on Friday. Most teams, though, won’t be opening their full camps until a week Tuesday on the 25th and all teams will be in camp by the 26. Here are the reporting dates for all teams.

Tomorrow is also an important date on the NFL calendar as players who were franchised have until 4 PM ET on Monday to agree to a long-term deal else they’ll have to wait until the end of the season to resume negotiations. Jacksonville avoided that situation with TE Evan Engram when he agreed to a 3-year extension with the Jags earlier today. Meanwhile, its decision for three star RBs as Josh Jacobs of Las Vegas, Dallas’ Tony Pollard and the Giants’ Saquon Barkley are also facing tomorrow’s deadline. Rumblings around the league suggest that Jacobs and Pollard are highly unlikely to sign, while Barkley could come done to the deadline. Stay tuned!
