Are you ready for some football??? … Well, maybe not quite, but the new football year kicks off at 4 PM ET later today when all teams have to be under the 2022 salary cap and teams can start to officially sign free agents and make trades. Speaking of trades, it is believed that Houston QB Deshaun Watson will meet with Atlanta sometime later today. He has already met with Carolina, New Orleans and Cleveland and while the Falcons remain a long-shot to win his services, they have at least offered the three round picks required to at least get a meeting with Watson. At this time, though, it does not appear that any other teams are prepared to jump into the mix. It also appears that whether the Browns end up with Watson or not, they are prepared to move on from Baker Mayfield and will look to make a separate trade for him if he is not included in any deal for Watson. Meanwhile it is pro day at national champion Georgia where a full house of NFL execs and personnel people is expected. The NFL is providing some live coverage of the Bulldogs’ on-field drills starting at 11 PM ET. Should be interesting just to see what NFL people do show up!
