Another shoe falls in Carolina; HC Rhule out … It was just over two seasons ago that former Baylor coach Matt Rhule was the hottest ticket in NFL coaching circles. However, just 38 games later Rhule has been replaced by Steve Wilks by the 1-4 Panthers who would have the #1 pick at the 2023 draft if it were held today. At the same time, the Panthers have confirmed that QB Baker Mayfield will miss the next 2-3 weeks because of a sprained ankle suffered in yesterday’s dismal home loss to San Francisco that turned out to be the last straw for Rhule.
