AA Bama OT; pair of Aggies enter draft … With now less than 10 days until the deadline for underclassmen to apply for early admission to the 2026 draft, three top SEC prospects have announced their intention to forego their final year of eligibility and tur pro this winter. They are all-America Alabama OT Kadyn Proctor, along with LB Taurean York and OG Chase Bisontis of Texas A&M. Proctor was considered to be a top 10 type prospect earlier in the year, but has shown signs of having to struggle to cut off the edge blocking speed rushers at times and has seen his grade slip somewhat. Meanwhile, both York and Bisontis are likely second-day picks.
Elsewhere, two of the top ERs in college football this has season have opted to pass on the draft and return to college. On the one hand, Damon Wilson of Missouri has entered the transfer portal and will play elsewhere in 2026, while Melkart Abou Joade, who had 10.5 sacks this past fall, will return to the Tar Heels. And in one of the worst kept secrets in college football, former USF QB Byrum Brown, one of the better prospects at the position for 2027, will indeed follow former Bulls’ head coach Alex Golesh to Auburn.
