Utah AA DE Daley to portal

Utah AA DE Daley to portal … Utah All-America redshirt sophomore DE John Henry Daley, who led the country in tackles for loss this past season, has confirmed that he will be entering the transfer portal when it opens on Friday. The 6-4, 250-pound Henry, who had 11.5 sacks among his TFLs, is widely expected to look to transfer to Michigan which just signed former Utah head coach Kyle Whittingham to take over the Wolverine program still reeling from the rather shocking dismissal of Sherrone Moore earlier this month. The move though could be complicated by the fact that Daley suffered what was described as a ‘long-term’ albeit otherwise undisclosed lower leg injury late last month. In fact, there have been rumors that Daley could be forced to miss the entire 2026 season, but he denied those rumors today saying he’ll be ready to go in 6 months.

Otherwise, its been relatively quiet the past few days with few players making announcements regarding their plans to enter, or not, the upcoming draft. Indeed, while no one really thought that Daley would be turning pro this winter, the NFL is still waiting for official word from star Utes’ OT Spencer Fano, a top 10-20 prospect, who has a year of eligibility remaining and has yet to formally declare. Elsewhere, star Vanderbilt TE Eli Stowers, arguably the top prospect at that position, is also yet to declare for the draft, but will be sitting out the team’s bowl game against Iowa which is usually a precursor to committing to the draft. Stay tuned!
