Packers get star ER Parsons in blockbuster deal … Just when you thought it was almost safe enough to go back outside! Indeed, we’ll be starting a second-straight post with WOW as Green Bay has indeed acquired star ER Micah Parsons, arguably the best defensive player in the league, from Dallas in exchange for first-round picks in 2026 and 2027 ad DT Kenny Clark. Parsons had been holding in with the Cowboys literally since the end of last season in what had turned into a rather bitter dispute. The Packers though were willing to pony up and quickly made Parsons the highest paid non-QB in the league signing him to a 4Y, $188M contract that includes a $120M million fully guaranteed signing bonus. And while its almost impossible to get full value making such a trade, at least in acquiring the extra picks, the Cowboys are now one of only three teams with two 2026 first rounders, along with Cleveland (which has Jacksonville’s) and the LA Rams (from Atlanta); the Cowboys are also now the only team with multiple first or second day picks in 2027. Meanwhile, they are no doubt celebrating in Green Bay where the deal may just have made the Packers co-favorites in the tough NFL North along with Detroit.
