Just 4 2d rounders remain unsigned

July 20, 2025

Updated: Just 4 2d rounders remain unsigned … The floodgates did indeed open on the signings of players selected in the second-round of the 2025 draft. There are, in fact, just 4 remaining unsigned #2 picks from this past April’s draft and that includes embattled RB Quinshon Judkins, whom Cleveland selected with the 4th pick in round, #36 overall, who remains at home in Florida dealing with charges of domestic assault. The other three unsigned 2nd rounders include CB Will Johnson, taken with the 47th pick by Arizona; DE Femi Oajedo, taken 52nd by Tennessee; and CB Ben Morrison, the 53rd pick by Tampa Bay. The unusual holdup in the signing of this year’s 2nd rounders was precipitated when Cleveland and Houston gave the first 2 players selected in the round – LB Carson Schwensiger by the Browns and WR Jayden Higgins by the Texans – guaranteed contracts and all other wanted in. In the end, several others did up and including QB Tyler Shough, whom New Orleans selected with the 40th pick. However, it should be noted that pretty much every other second rounder received record guaranteed money for their respective draft spot. Update: Tampa Bay has signed CB Ben Morrison, the 53rd pick this year, which brings the number of unsigned second rounders down to 3.
