Browns’ beat wins major reporting award … We took a few days off after the draft to recharge and one of the stories we missed was the fact that the Pro Football Writers of America announced late last that Mary Kay Cabot, the Browns’ beat writer for the Cleveland Plain Dealer has been named this year’s winner of the Bill Nunn Award which is presented annually to a reporter who has made a long and distinguished contribution to pro football through their local coverage coverage. The award will be presented later this summer at the Pro Football Hall of Fame in Canton. And the award is richly deserved. Every year as part of our draft coverage we keep tabs on what’s being reported in the local newspapers of all 32 teams and year and year out the coverage of the Browns led by Mary Kay is as good as there is in the league.
