Sanders pro day in the books

April 4, 2025

Sanders pro day in the books … Just finished a second run thru the recording of Shedeur Sanders scripted throwing session at the special pro day workout at Colorado earlier today. No question, that Sanders is something of a tough guy on whom to get a real good read. On the one hand, the ball comes out of his hand so quickly with really elite route anticipation and accuracy. Somewhat ironically, though, Sanders appeared to be significantly more accurate the farther down the field the route. In fact, he was close to 100% on deep balls. On the other hand, a lot of Sanders’ throws, again somewhat ironically especially on shorter routes, had a lot of wobble to them and on more than one occasion were a wee bit behind the receiver. So what to make of it? As with any scripted pro day session probably nor all that much. Certainly not enough to push Sanders ahead of Cam Ward, if that was even on the table, but just as likely enough to keep him very much in the conversation with teams like Cleveland and the Giants who pick right after Ward is expected to be taken by Tennessee with the first pick overall. Meanwhile, just as an aside note for anyone that did not see today’s Colorado workout, but WR Travis Hunter, who earlier in the day indicated he wouldn’t be participating, did indeed run route for Sanders.
