No fooling

April 1, 2025

No fooling! Its April. Draft month … Many years ago when the GBN was in its infancy we had a little bit of fun on April Fool’s Day posting a number of totally preposterous stories. Unfortunately, so many people took them seriously and got mad at us we never did it again and won’t this year. However, it is April which means we are now just 23 days away from the start of the draft. In fact, there is still information to be gathered. In the next couple of weeks, teams will be tweaking their boards based on medical rechecks for those with major red health flags noted at the combine;  their allotted 30 in-house prospect visits; and from private pro days of both players that teams want to work out as well as those like Michigan’s Will Johnson who haven’t yet been able to work out because of injuries. At the same time, most, if not all, teams will be bringing their personnel staffs, including their scouts, along with their coaches back to their respective war rooms to put those final touches on their boards, as well as identify the players and positions they want to target at the actual draft. And there’s not going to be a lot of sleep for those guys for the next month or so!
