Tag day in NFL … The deadline for teams to apply either a franchise or transition tag comes up at 4 PM ET later this afternoon. So far, two players – Cincinnati WR Tee Higgins and Kansas City OG Trey Smith – have been tagged to date with both receiving the franchise designation meaning they can negotiate with other teams but if they sign and their original team does not match they get two first round picks as compensation.
