Senior Bowl Notes: Tuesday afternoon report

January 28, 2025

Senior Bowl Report: Tuesday afternoon … For whatever reason, until the very end, this afternoon’s Senior Bowl practice session in Mobile lacked the crispness and energy of the morning workout. As a result, there wasn’t a whole lot significant information to report from this afternoon’s practice. Certainly, anybody hoping to get a look at QBs Jalen Milroe of Alabama and/or Mississippi’s Jaxson Dart air it out came away disappointed as both barely threw the ball at all and what they did throw seldom was much past the line of scrimmage. It was also hard to see anyone else on the American team thatb really dominated this afternoon. That said, several players did stand out, in no particular order, DE Shemar Stewart of Texas A&M; DTs Walter Nolen of Ole Miss, Cam Jackson of Florida, South Carolina’s TJ Sanders and Omarr Norman-Lott; Alabama A&M Carson Vinson; Jacksonville State OG Clay Webb; CBs Max Hairston of Kentucky and Upton Stout of Western Kentucky; and WRs Jack Bech of TCU and Utah State WR Jalen Rivers. On the other hand, the one player who noticeably struggled was Arizona G/T Jonah Savaiinea. Meanwhile, the up-and-down category was led by Kentucky DT Deone Walker who blew-up a couple of plays when he was able to keep his pads down, but too often never got off the line of scrimmage as the 6-7, 340-pounder had a tendency to pretty much stand up off the snap and lost all power and leverage. Note: Texas A&M DT Shemar Turner has been ruled out of the rest of the week at the Senior Bowl after a stress fracture was discovered in his foot, Turner is expected to be sidelined for the next 3-4 weeks putting his availability for the combine next month in some question.
