Young back as Panthers’ QB; future may still be undecided … There is a potentially interesting situation developing in Carolina where Bryce Young appears to have been restored as the Panthers’ starter after being benched in favor of veteran Andy Dalton earlier this season. At the time, it was thought that Young who was 2-16 as the starter at the time was pretty much done in Carolina and that in all likelihood the Panthers would be looking for a new QB with what was surely going to be an early pick at the 2025 draft. But the feeling in Carolina appears to be that Young has been much better since returning to the job the past couple of weeks with both GM Dan Morgan and head coach Dave Canales talking about him in reasonably positive terms this week as the team heads to Germany for a ‘draft bowl’ type game with the equally 2-7 NY Giants. Morgan, for example, said that the team didn’t consider any of the trade offers they reportedly got for Young prior to this week’s trade deadline and that they were ‘excited to work with him and to keep working with him in the future’. Morgan added that ‘at the end of the day, we’ll have those conversations once the season ends, and we’ll see where we’re at.’ What all that suggests that, again at least for now, that the Panthers intend to play Young the rest of the season and see where’s he at before making any major decisions on the position. Stay tuned.
