Vikes rook QB done for year … Minnesota rookie QB JJ McCarthy, the 10th player selected at the 2024 draft, will in fact miss the rest of the season with a knee injury. McCarthy damaged an MCL in a pre-season game on Saturday and doctors found it was torn once they got in there. The silver lining for McCarthy is that the injury happened so early in the year that he will have lots of recovery time prior to the 2025 season. With McCarthy sidelined, it appears that veteran Sam Darnold will be starting for the Vikings once the regular season gets underway next month.
