Lions add top personnel exec from Jags … In a move that kind of slipped under the radar late this past week, Detroit has hired former Jacksonville director of college scouting Kyle O’Brien to become the Lions’ new director of player personnel. With the Lions, O’Brien will be reunited with new G.M. Bob Quinn, whom he worked with in New England’s front office for 10 years from 2002 thru 2011. Quinn, who got the job with the Lions last week, also announced Friday that the team was retaining coach Jim Caldwell.
